Greetings,
With the Summer
Reading Program in full swing, the volunteer services program has experienced
notable highlights since the start of the summer season. Here are just a few of
the recent standouts so far this season:
SW Express/ Walter
Library Grouping
Summer volunteers
Jassmine Gonzalez, Odudu Mbaba, and brother/sister team of Ahmad and Maryam
Moeen began their volunteer work immediately following their orientation and
they helped WAL and SWX staff register more than 200 kids on SRP Kick Off
Day!
McGovern Stella Link
Library
As one of HPL's busiest locations, Stella Link has
received a large influx of volunteers for SRP. To ensure, volunteers are placed
in a timely manner, Branch Manager Marcos Martinez, designated a co-supervisor
for volunteer services for the summer season. Together, volunteer supervisor,
Jesse Farias, and co-supervisor, Mark Hall, completed 2 large volunteer
orientation sessions in 1 week.
McCrane-Kashmere Gardens
Library
Assistant
Manager for the Kashmere-Lakewood grouping, Jose Santoyo, wins the award for expediency
in volunteer service. A volunteer applicant for the Kashmere Library was sent
to staff on a Wednesday evening, and by the next afternoon, the volunteer had
been in contact with staff and received an in-person interview, training, and
recorded their first hours of volunteer service in less than 24 hours.
Awesome job team!!!
